Terms and contribution rules

Draft pending attorney review. Plain-English contribution terms, version 2026-09-25.1.

  • 1You do not need an account or email to share an experience privately to help us improve the guide. An account is required to submit a Community post or reply.
  • 2Private experience responses are for our review team to learn from and improve our guidance and resources; they are not Community posts and will not be published there. Community submissions are a separate choice: we may redact or edit those for privacy and clarity before deciding whether to publish them.
  • 3We may decline a Community submission, remove it later, or never publish it. Sending one does not mean it will appear.
  • 4Sending us a story does not create an attorney-client relationship. Child Support Friend is not a law firm and nothing here is legal advice.
  • 5Please leave out identifying or sensitive case details: names, case numbers, children's names, addresses, phone numbers, employers, exact amounts.
  • 6Do not use a submission or reply to harass, threaten or defame another person. Share your own experience without exposing someone else's private life.
  • 7Only if you choose to submit to the Community do you give Child Support Friend permission to display an approved, privacy- or clarity-edited version under your chosen display name. Private experience responses are not licensed for Community posting. You keep ownership of your original words.
  • 8If you share as a professional, we do not verify credentials. Your submission is not presented as verified professional advice unless that changes in the future and is stated clearly.
  • 9Child Support Friend is an independent guide, not a government agency or official service. Guidance here never replaces your state agency, a court, or a qualified attorney.
  • 10Child Support Friend may operate as a business, including paid or sponsored offerings in the future. Anonymous, moderated material and aggregate insight may be used in that work. Identifiable family or legal case information is not a product we offer for sale.
  • 11An account is for Community participation, not proof of identity or credentials. Making an account does not turn an earlier private response into a post. Community submissions require review and a separate publication decision.
  • 12In the Community, other people see the display name you choose, never your email. When someone says they work in the child support field, that is their own description. We do not verify professional credentials, and nothing a person shares is an official state rule.
  • 13Replies are for support and experience, not legal advice. We may hide or remove posts and replies, and you can report anything that looks unsafe or identifying.
  • 14Feedback about Child Support Friend itself is kept with our team. It is never turned into Community content.
